Who is JR Watkins and how did Watkins come to be? In 1868, shortly after the Civil War, Watkins perfected his first product, a natural plant based product called “Original Red Liniment” in the small town of Plainview, Minnesota, not far from where I grew up, and a year later introduced the world’s first money back guarantee. From those humble beginnings, the Watkins company survived two World Wars, the Great Depression, and has grown to over 350 wonderful natural and eco-friendly, green products available for you today.
